Why I Left Microsoft Research to Start an AI Company
After 8 years of pushing the boundaries of AI research at Microsoft, I made one of the most difficult decisions of my career: leaving to start my own company. This post is about why I made that choice and what I've learned along the way.
The Comfort Zone

Microsoft Research was an incredible place to work. The resources, the brilliant colleagues, the freedom to explore—it was a researcher's dream. But something was missing.
The Turning Point
Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur. Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident, sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollit anim id est laborum.
I kept seeing the same pattern: groundbreaking research that never quite made it to the people who needed it most. The gap between what we could do in the lab and what was available to the world was enormous.

What I Learned
- Timing matters less than you think - There's never a "perfect" time
- Your network is everything - The relationships you build matter
- Embrace uncertainty - It's part of the journey
- Stay curious - Keep learning, always

I'm building something I believe in, and I couldn't be more excited about what's ahead.
